How To Profit With Adwords
October 26th 2008
OK first off, when thinking about how to set up your adwords campaigns and estimate the CPC and conversions…there are a few rules to keep in mind.
Something to think about…as a general rule
20 sales @ $50 commission = $1000. Will say per month.
- At a normal 1% conversion rate, you would need 2000 unique visitors or clicks to make 20 sales.
- 2000 unique visitors divided by 4 weeks = 500 uniques per week.
- So that basically comes to 72 unique visitors per day.
- So if you were running an adwords campaign with 5 tight ad groups, each
group containing 3 keywords, you would only need 4.8 clicks per day on each
keyword for 30 days to earn $1000 in revenue.4.8 clicks per day on each keyword for 30 days to earn $1000 in revenue
You remember hearing about those long tail keywords the gurus have been banging on about for the last two years?
Internet millionaire John
Reese says that he would rather get 1 visitor per day to 300 different
keywords, than try to get 300 visitors per day to one keyword. This is the perfect opportunity to adopt that philosophy and bid on the long tail keywords that are cheaper than the keywords that get a ton of searches.
How to break even with google adwords:
So now to break even using a 1% conversion rate, your max bid per click will be 1% of the commission. So 1% of $50 commission in this case.
So in this case, you should break even with a max bid per click of $0.50.
How to become profitable with google adwords:
Your campaign becomes profitable on the front end if you can:
get cheaper clicks, or by increasing your conversion rate, and ideally doing both.
It is more than reasonable to obtain a 2% and higher conversion rate with a good offer. These are the little gems that you’re searching for to bring in the consistent cash.
Of course you don’t stop there after you find a winner. Repeat this 9 times and you’ll be making 6 figures per year in no time flat.
